Attached is the Nordic Saami Convention - Unofficial English translation.

Saami Council has originally initatied this important and significant convention in one of its Saami Conferences in 1986 - 20 years ago. 
 
The convention was submitted to Nordic governments in November 2005 (read the arcticle from link below). At the moment the hearing process of the convention is going on in 3 Nordic countries and the deadline to submit the comments is set on June 15th. In all 3 Nordic countries there are organised seminars to public about the convention. Saami Council has been invited to give its comments about the newly prepared proposal as a convention.
