Course on project management

The Saami Council’s and the Finnish Sámi Youth organization’s Filling the EU-Sápmi knowledge gaps project, together with Sámi Education Institute, invite you to a course on project management. The course will be held online on May 26th-27th, 2021 9:00-15:00 (CEST).

The course is a two-day training session for Sámi youths and other Sámi community members that are interested in improving their skills in project management. Additionally, the course helps to build networks between Sámi organizations and funders and create new opportunities for collaboration.

- We hope that the course will serve as a matching avenue for potential future project partners as well as a hub for new project ideas, says the head of the EU unit, Elle Merete Omma.

- The objective of the course is to build capabilities in the Sámi communities in developing, applying for, and implementing EU projects, Omma adds.

The course will contain both inspirational speakers and group work in Innovation Labs where to create and test your own project ideas. Experienced EU project actors will act as mentors and panelists and will give practical coaching for participants.

- We want to take it down to become more hands-on, where the participants can receive concrete tools on what do they need to achieve their goals. And since it is a web-based course, we hope it makes it easier for Sámi organizations to participate when they don’t have to travel anywhere, especially in these pandemic times, says Omma.

Interpretation will be available in Northern Sámi, Finnish and Norwegian/Swedish.
