- The Dalán grant is the Saami Council's newest form of grant, which was launched a year ago. The Dalán grant has been very popular, indicating a need for such a grant in Sápmi, says Unna-Maari Pulska, Cultural Secretary of the Saami Council.

What is the Dalán grant?

The Dalán grant was launched in 2025. It is created to support the Sámi arts and culture sector in unexpected, urgent, and time-limited situations. The maximum amount of a Dalán grant is NOK 20,000. The Dalán grant is not awarded for investments or activities that have already been completed.

In addition to Dalán grants, the Saami Council awards project grants, travel scholarships, and year-long working scholarships. The application period for annual grants opens in late spring and ends on November 1, 2026. The Cultural Committee of the Saami Council decides on the allocation of all cultural grants
