The Saami Council has hired Oula-Antti Labba as a lawyer for the Human Rights Unit. Labba is from Eanodat / Enontekiö, and is currently residing in Aanaar / Inari and Helsinki. Labba is a lawyer of particular experience on Human Rights issues and has previously worked for the Saami Parliament in Finland and for the Human Rights organization Minority Rights Group International in London.

– I am particularly interested in Indigenous rights and issues that concern Indigenous Peoples' right to self-determination as well as traditional sámi livelihoods, and look forward to contributing to the important work of the Saami Council in these fields.
