Piera Heaika Muotka returns as a communication adviser in the Saami Council
Piera Heaika Muotka has been appointed as a new communication adviser at the Saami Council.
The Saami Council has appointed Piera Heaika Muotka as a new communication adviser at the Saami Council. Muotka, who is from Unjárga/Nessby and Dielddanuorri/Tjeldsund, knows the Sámi community and culture well and is well-acquainted with the Saami Council and our member organizations. He previously worked as a communication adviser at the Saami Council in the period 2019-2021, and in addition to being politically active in Sámi politics, he has also worked at Norwegian Sámi Assosiation (NSR) and Dáiddadállu.
– The Saami Council is an organization I know very well and is a workplace where I feel comfortable. I want to work for the best of the Sámi community, and I’m very interested in Sámi and indigenous affairs in general. Therefore, I am very happy to be able to return to the Saami Council, says Muotka.
Muotka is a trained graphic designer and has extensive experience in communication from various roles and positions in the Sámi community, and has a strong interest in increasing knowledge about Sámi affairs, both nationally and internationally.
