The Saami Council launched a new grant, Dalán-doarjja, last year. The second application round for this year closed on October 10, 2026. The Saami Council received 24 applications in this round, requesting a combined 413,334 NOK. In this round, 150,000 NOK in grants was available and distributed among 10 applicants.

- This was the fourth application round for the Dalán grant already. We have received a steady number of applications in each application round over the past two years, which indicates that the Sámi art and culture sector has found our new grant. We received applications from across Sápmi, and new applicants are also always very welcome, notes Unna-Maari Pulska, Cultural Secretary of the Saami Council.

The Dalán grant is created to support the Sámi arts and culture sector in unexpected, urgent, and time-bound situations. Individual Sámi, as well as Sámi groups and associations, can apply. The maximum grant you can receive is 20,000 NOK. The Saami Council’s cultural grants are funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

The deadline for applications for project and travel support, as well as a work grant for 2027, is 1.11.2026 at 23:59 (CET).
