Susanna Israelsson

Susanna Israelsson is an advisor at the Saami Council’s Arctic and Environmental Unit. She is born and raised in Váhtjer/Jiellevárre, northern Swedish Sápmi, where she also lives with her family.

Susanna has a background in political science from Luleå University of Technology and currently focuses her work on international climate policy and related climate and environmental issues. She is particularly involved in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Arctic Council, where she serves as the Saami Council’s Head of Delegation to the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP). She also serves as one of two focal points representing the Indigenous Peoples’ Orgnisations (IPO) constituency within the UNFCCC.
