The Saami Council's annual application period for cultural grants is now open, and the Saami Council is now inviting the Sámi cultural field to apply for grants for 2026. In this call, you can apply for a project grant, a travel grant, or a one-year working grant. The Saami Council supports both traditional and modern cultural activities.

The application period for cultural grants ends on 2 November 2025 at 23:59 CEST. Grants are applied for electronically on the Saami Council's website. The Saami Council's cultural committee decides how to distribute the grants.

Application forms are now also available in Southern Sámi, Julev Sámi, Skolt Sámi, and Inari Sámi

The Saami Council's application forms have been revised, and for the first time, applications can now also be filled out in Southern Sámi, Julev Sámi, Skolt Sámi, and Inari Sámi. Previously, the application forms were in Northern Sámi, Finnish, English, Norwegian, or Swedish.

- We are pleased to announce that the application forms can now be sent in four additional Sámi languages, in addition to Northern Sámi. The Saami Council's grants are intended for the entire Sápmi and all of our language groups. Providing application forms in more Sámi languages serves Sápmi more comprehensively. We hope that applicants will find their way to the translated application forms and that we will also receive applications in these languages, says Unna-Maari Pulska, Cultural Secretary of the Saami Council.
